Critical Illness Plan
The critical illness plan pays a lump-sum benefit that can be used to help cover out-of-pocket expenses related to eligible critical illnesses/diseases. Benefits are non-taxable and do not coordinate with other types of benefits you may receive. You’ll receive a check payable to you.

Coverage amounts are available in increments of $10,000 up to a maximum of $50,000. A spouse/domestic partner is eligible for 100% of the employee benefit. Child coverage amounts are 50% of the employee benefit.
The plan will pay a specified percentage of the category coverage amount selected for covered illnesses/diseases. Benefits continue until a maximum of 200% of the basic benefit amount is reached.
Beginning in 2017 there will be no maximum benefit for the Critical Illness plan.
