The healthcare flexible spending account (FSA), dependent care flexible spending account, and the health savings account (HSA) are designed to help you pay for eligible healthcare and dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis. Contributions are deducted from your pay on a pre-tax basis.
What the FSA and HSA cover:
The healthcare FSA and the HSA cover certain medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision expenses. The dependent care FSA covers childcare or adult care for an eligible dependent.

Important information about spending accounts:
- Only employees in either the Choice Account Plus or Choice Account medical plans can enroll in a health savings account. Also, employees enrolled in the Choice Account Plus or Choice Account plans are not eligible to participate in the healthcare FSA.
- The healthcare FSA is available for eligible expenses incurred by you and/or your eligible dependents. To review a list of eligible expenses for the healthcare FSA and dependent care FSA, click here and go to the WageWorks tab.
- Your domestic partner and/or your domestic partner’s children are NOT eligible for the healthcare FSA, HSA, or dependent care FSA unless they qualify as your legal dependent under federal law.
- To participate in the healthcare FSA, HSA, or dependent care FSA you must re-enroll each year.
